  • Intel Refuted the Rumor that Its Chipsets Prices Will Increase Due to Sichuan Quake

After the happening of the massive earthquake in Sichuan, PC industry makers keep on paying attention to the movement of Intel’s Chengdu chipset packaging and testing factory, worrying that the accident will pose substantial strike on the PC industry chain.

Although Intel has announced the earthquake hasn’t influenced the factory much and its supply of chipsets will be well-balanced, rumors comes out that Intel Chengdu fab’s damage was more serious than the company has announced.

Rumors also came out recently that Intel will increase its chipsets prices at the extent of more than 10% due to the difficulty of transportation caused by the earthquake.

Intel China refuted the rumor and announced yesterday that Chengdu fab has resumed production already and the company will not adjust the prices of any CPU.
