We have tested OCZ IBIS HSDL SSD 240GB delivered by OCZ Technology to have a look at its performance.

OCZ Technology is a famous company targeted at professional consumers as well as enterprises, offering SSDs, memory modules and Flash products.

OCZ IBIS HSDL SSD 240GB is a different kind of SSD product, it use adopts High Speed Data Link (HSDL) interface, and also use Sandforce chips as SSD controller and uses Intel 34nm NAND Flash chips.

OCZ’s HSDL addresses bottleneck issues as an open standard interface that eliminates the bandwidth restrictions found in current storage protocols. These SSDs are accessed via this high-speed internal interconnect method, and also could combine with multiple channels to maximum the speed.

OCZ IBIS HSDL SSD 240GB is a internal RAID 0 SSD, it use a data link cable to connect with a PCI-E card on pcs.

We chose the motherboard with Intel chipsets as the testing platform equipped with Intel i5 processor and DDR3 memory, the bench was tested under the Windows 7 and Ubuntu Linux 11.04 operating system.

Details of the specifications are shown below:

SSD Evaluation Report

SSD testing results of the test are as follows:

AS SSD Benchmark

The new benchmark of SSD is AS SSD Benchmark, it scores 884. This test clearly demonstrates the performance of the SSD under various application environments. We observed the bench with many runs, monitored and analyzed the result, found a rather outstanding performance.

ATTO Disk Benchmark v2.4.3

By testing read and write speed with the well-known ATTO Disk Benchmark, we found the SSD also excels in read and write.

CrystalDiskMark 3.0.1

With the speed of write file at 233.4MB/s and the efficiency of read at 626.4MB/s, the SSD presents a good performance in this testing item.

Better Then most SSDs

In view of IO Meter, the outcome of 96271.983846 IOPS is much high scores, the performance indeed better then most SSDs.

In terms of comprehensive scores, OCZ IBIS HSDL SSD 240GB scores very high, we recommend the product as one of the best choices of server and workstation use.
