BIWIN have 4 High Capacity SSDs tested this time, which are SATA2 Pro series and SATA3 Elite series aiming at performance and mainstream markets. The 4 tested products are BIWIN Pro A813 60GB, BIWIN Pro A813 120GB and BIWIN Elite S836 120GB, 240GB, all with SandForce controller chips but of different types. Pro products use Sandforce-1222 while Elite SSDs adopt Sandforce-2281.

Pro SSDs are suitable for entry-level and general notebook customers because of the medium price. Elite series are well-recognized high performance products with SATA3 interface support, suited to desktops, work stations and servers.

BIWIN Pro A813 60GB features a SATA2 interface, a Sandforce-1222 controller chip and a Micron LBA DDP MLC 24nm NAND Flash chip.

BIWIN Pro A813 120GB features a SATA2 interface, a Sandforce-1222 controller chip and a Micron LBA DDP MLC 24nm NAND Flash chip.

BIWIN Elite S836 120GB features a SATA3 interface, a Sandforce-2281 controller chip and Toshiba Toggle MLC 24nm Flash chip.

BIWIN Elite S836 240GB features a SATA3 interface, a Sandforce-2281 controller chip and a Toshiba Toggle MLC 24nm Flash chip.

AS SSD Benchmark

AS SSD Benchmark is a new SSD benchmarking program that can provide an overall score for your preference: Pro A813 60GB, Pro A813 120GB 456, BIWIN Elite S836 120GB and 240GB respectively received 362, 456, 571 and 810 points.

The 4 SSDs made remarkable performance in read/write test. The higher the capacity and chip number, the higher the points received.

BIWIN high capacity SSDs are found to have a balance point between performance and price. Customers with different needs or different notebook disks like SATA 2, SATA3, can choose one from these 3 products.
